Goscelin

Goscelin
(d. after 1107)
   Historian.
Goscelin was a French Benedictine monk. He moved to England in 1058 in the service of Herman, Bishop of Sherborne, and in c. 1090, he finally settled in Canterbury. He wrote an account of the lives of many of the early Anglo-Saxon saints, including St Augustine of canterbury, St Ives, St Werburgh, St Edith, St Wulfhilde, St Lawrence of Canterbury, St Wulsin, St Justus and St Milburg. The memory of many of these saints is only preserved as a result of his chronicle.
